28th August
My, my how time flies when you are having fun, is the saying. And it is true too. I have been having so much fun sewing up a storm. I am so tired by the end of the day and remember that this is also work. I am making uniforms for our children’s choir at church. I have so far made the patterns for two sizes of shirts and sewed five shirts. I could have had more done, but I have had to play house the past few days as we have given the house girl a few days off to go and visit her family. I have been cooking and cleaning in ways that I have not been doing for a while. I know that most of you are thinking that I am a baby if I am not keeping my house by my self. Life is so different here without the convenience of all the gadgets of western life. In other ways I am enjoying it though. I get to cook all the western food that I want and no one can stop me. Like right now for supper I am in the middle of cooking Sloppy Joes and French Fries, store bought and frozen. (My first time to buy like that, but I think that it will not be the last.) We even bought really America catsup. If you can’t tell I am just a little bit excited to eat. I just wish that I had an oven to cook the fries instead of frying them in cooking oil over a charcoal fire. It is taking forever.

Dear Heather,
ReplyDeleteSo happy to hear that you enjoy sewing so much! Hey show us some of your products online please :)
Btw, just wondering if you can use the microwave oven to do some American cooking? Not sure if it has the baking function though.
I am still uploading my Uganda trip pictures on facebook, keep checking them out! I really miss my days in Uganda. Life is so much happier in Uganda than in Hong Kong for me ...
I am missing the kids a lot too. Are they back to school yet? I guess they have one more week of holiday, don't they? Say hi to everyone for me too.
By the way, have you re-applied for the P.O. box number yet? We want to send you something.
Love,
Karen
Yes, let's know when the PO Box is ready, two boxes of items are all set ready.
